Immersion Writers Africa Writing History in the Wake

August 5-11, 2026 Accra, Ghana

Embark on a journey: Join us in Ghana to explore how we approach writing history in the wake of slavery, memory, and diaspora. Pairing seminars with site visits to Cape Coast Castle, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the W. E. B. Du Bois Memorial Centre, we will examine how memory is preserved, contested, and transformed into new understandings of history, return, and Black futurity.
